Thousands of people flocked to Halifax over the weekend for the 14th Annual Saltscapes Expo, a celebration of all things local throughout the Maritimes and Atlantic Canada.
More than 500 vendors from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI were on hand to show their wares and promote local communities and tourism.
And not surprising, Nova Scotia’s South Shore was very well represented.
Representing the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, Chassidy Veinot-Dorey, wouldn’t miss the chance to be a part of such an important event.
“It really is a great networking opportunity for all us here today, we’re all here for the same purpose, to grow tourism, business and merchants all over Nova Scotia,” says Veinot-Dorey. “Summer seems to a really big draw for us, but we also want to market ourselves as a year round destination.”
The numerous vendors included Cities, Towns, Municipalities, Craft Breweries, Wineries, Restaurants, Local Artisans, live music entertainment and culinary demonstrations.
An estimated 40,000 people were expected to pass through over the three day event.
