I’ve really lost my love of watching sports on television. I think it’s because I’m missing being part of a crowd in attendance at sporting events.
A broadcast can never replace the experience of being in the crowd in real life. Yes, I know it’s too dangerous to be in a crowd right now because of the pandemic.
Earlier this summer I was asking around if there were any softball or baseball local leagues operating in the area, but there were only a couple of pickup games.
Some of my fondest sports memories were Sunday afternoons at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton watching my Tigercats play CFL football. Or a special trip to Montreal to catch the Habs.
When our youngest played university women’s soccer we really enjoyed hitting the road to see their games in person.
I really miss the Lumberjacks and the Mooseheads.
I can’t wait for the chance to see some sports live and in person. Sports on tv just doesn’t do it for me.
