An intense low pressure system has reached the Maritimes today from New England.

Snow has started falling in our region and will spread to the remainder of the province this evening.

The snow will change to rain tonight and will end early Wednesday morning.

Up to 15 centimetres of snowfall is possible over some areas.

Rainfall warnings have been issued along the Atlantic coast with 30 to 40 millimetres.

Strong winds gusting up to 100 km/h are expected as well this evening.
