A strong start for Mary Fay’s squad at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Stratford, Ontario. The Chester team has a 2-0 mark after wins over PEI and Newfoundland/Labrador. The Nova Scotia champs face Ontario and Saskatchewan today.

The finals are set at the Provincial Mens and Women’s Curling championships at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax. The Scotties final will pit Liverpool native Jill Brothers against defending champ Mary Anne Arsenault. Brothers ousted Theresa Breen 11-5 in yesterday’s semi-final. In the Tankard play downs, Bridgewater native Shawn Adams fell 5-3 to Jamie Murphy in the semis. Unbeaten Chad Stevens will face Murphy in today’s final.
