Take A (Virtual) Hike

The wait is over.

Staff with the Nature Conservancy of Canada strapped a 60-pound Google Trekker to their back last summer and hiked Gaff Point in Lunenburg County, capturing 360-degree views.

“Our mandate also includes connecting Canadians to nature,” he says. “This achieves that by allowing people to explore these areas virtually. Even if you live in another part of the country you can see some pretty cool spots.”

This is the second year the Conservancy has partnered with Google.

Holland says they’re in the planning stages for this years trek which he expects to happen some time in late summer or early fall.

You can check out the hike of Gaff Point on Google Streetview.
