Another busy day in the retrial of a Little Tancook Island man accused of murdering his daughters boyfriend in 2014.
Terry Roy Levy shot and killed Terry Green on the morning of July 8th.
He was convicted of second degree murder in 2015, but the Nova Scotia Court of Appeals granted him a new trial after finding the original judge didn’t properly instruct the Jury.
Today the Jury heard from Dr. Marnie Wood, the medical examiner who autopsied Green’s body.
She says he appeared to have been shot three times: once in the arm, once in the lower back, and once in the chest.
Wood explained to the jury that the shot to the chest damaged a major artery causing blood to quickly fill the chest cavity.
She says an injury like this would usually cause death within two minutes.
Levy’s grandson, Jordan, also took the stand yesterday.
He testified the two Terrys had a strained relationship and had fought earlier that morning.
He says it became physical but ended quickly.
Jordan says he left with Green to do some work elsewhere on the island but Green had returned on his own later.
On his way there he was shot and killed by Levy.
The prosecution has called four of the ten witnesses on their list.
Jordan’s mother Nicole is expected to take the stand today.
