A Little Tancook Island man says he had no plan to kill his daughter’s boyfriend in July of 2014.
Jurors in the retrial of Terry Roy Levy have been watching a video of his police interview over the last two days.
He has been accused of murdering Terry Green.
Levy can be seen throughout sitting calmly, arms crossed, with one leg resting on the opposite knee.
He tells Sgt. William Raaymaker if he hadn’t shot Green, he would probably have lost his own life.
Levy says he only decided to shoot Green a few seconds before he pulled the trigger.
A ballistics expert says the shot that killed Green was fired from around 18 feet away.
The prosecutor had the expert measure out the distance to show the jury how far away Green was.
Defence argues while it may seem like a fair distance it would take only seconds to close the gap.
It’s expected the last of the prosecutions evidence will be presented today.
Closing arguments will take place Monday before the jury begins their deliberations.
