This South Shore community wants Kiefer Sutherland to paddle a pumpkin

You read that right! Organizers of the Nova Scotia Giant Pumpkin Festival & Regatta have formally invited none other than Kiefer Sutherland, the actor known for such roles as Agent Jack Bauer in the show 24 and Ace Merrill in Stand by Me. He also happens to be the son of the late, great Donald Sutherland, who has Shelburne County ties!

Robin Smith, one of the organizers of the event, whose maiden name is Sutherland, shared in a video that Kiefer is her distant cousin and invited him to come back to the province of his ancestors and have a little fun at the Giant Pumpkin Festival!

A big part of the festival is the regatta, where community members and guests race giant pumpkins in Shelburne Harbour!

No word yet if Kiefer has seen the video and if he plans to attend! If he does come to this neck of the woods he should definitely stop by CKBW, where is dad once worked in his youth!
