Two men and a woman have been charged after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle in Bridgewater Thursday night.
According to Lunenburg District RCMP, members of the South Shore integrated Street Crime Unit and the Criminial Intelligence Services approached a stolen Jeep Renegade on Pleasant Street in Bridgewater at around 4 p.m.
When officers advised the driver and two passengers that they were under arrest, the driver accelerated and fled the area at a high rate of speed.
As a result, an officer was grazed by the suspect’s vehicle as it left the scene.
Bridgewater Police Service and RCMP then conducted checkpoints and patrolled the area to locate the vehicle.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. officers were notified that a speeding Jeep in the Conquerall Mills area had attempted to run another vehicle off the road.
RCMP prepared to deploy a spike belt to slow down the Jeep after it was located in Petite Riviere, however the driver turned down Wentzell Road.
All of the occupants left the vehicle on foot and fled into a nearby wooded area but were aprehended by officers shortly after.
The driver, Isabel MacDonald, 24, of Conquerall Bank, is facing charges of Possession of stolen property over $5000 (the Jeep), Assaulting a Police Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving and three counts for Breach of Probation.
Steven Rhodenizer, 26, of Baker Settlement, is facing charges of Possession of stolen property over $5000 and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Kyle Rhodenizer, 25, of Lower Sackville, fled from the vehicle and police have been unable to locate him. He is facing charges of Possession of stolen property over $5000, Resist Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance as well as two Breaches of a Recognizance.
The investigation is ongoing.
