Tour Boat Captain Doesn’t Consider Himself A Hero

A Lunenburg tour boat captain and crew are being hailed as heroes.

A 26 year-old Ontario man was rescued last week after falling into the water at Peggy’s Cove.

Peter Richardson says they were doing their job.

“We train once a month for this kind of situation. I don’t consider myself a hero, we were just doing what had to be done to get somebody out of the water.”

There have been calls for additional signs or security around the rocks.

However, Richardson feels people need to think before getting too close to the water.

The Nova Scotia government has also come out and said it will not install fences around the rocks.
