Town Of Shelburne Continues To Assess Well and Water Security Issues Of Its Residents

The town of Shelburne continues to conduct an informal survey of the water needs of its residents.

The information collected will help them plan where to extend water services, if need be.

CAO Dylan Heide says it’s a process they started last summer during the drought.

“There approximately 100 properties that could access the water system from their current location if they should choose to connect. The majority of the town is actually not located on the current water system, Those homes are on wells.”

Mayor Karen Mattatall has said if the data shows a problem in a specific area then it may give the town an opportunity to extend the waterline into that area if people want it.

But she says it’s a project the town of Shelburne could never take on by itself.
