Truro Heights man charged with child luring offences

A man from Truro Heights has been charged with child luring offences.

RCMP say the investigation began in November after reports that a 28-year-old had been communicating with a youth online for a sexual purpose.

He allegedly sent gifts and tried to meet with the young person at a Halifax hotel.

He was arrested May 7 after a home in Truro Heights was searched and evidence seized.

Police believe there may have been additional victims and urge parents to speak with their children about online safety.

The suspect has been released on conditions and will appear in court August 5.
