Two New Cases, 18 Variant Cases Identified

The Department of Health and Wellness is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.

Officials say one case is in Central Zone and the other is in Eastern Zone, both are related to travel.

After five recoveries, there are 42 active infections in the province.

Meantime, labs have confirmed 18 more UK variant cases.

Officials say they are previously reported cases, many of which are considered resolved, 10 travel related, seven close contacts of previously reported cases, and one case which is still under investigation.

They say that brings the total number of UK variant cases discovered in the province to 41.
