On April 9 in provincial court in Yarmouth on April 9, 19-year old Trey Rhyno, known as Jadelyn Kristi-Ann and 20-year-old Danesha Russell, were released on strict court conditions.
There were show-cause/bail hearings scheduled for both, but Rhyno’s took place because the Crown opposed the release.
The Crown and defence reached an agreement on conditions for Russell’s release, so a hearing was not required.
Rhyno and Russell both face charges of aggravated assault; assault with a weapon; unlawful confinement; conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
Russell and Rhyno return to court May 13 for election.
Jacqueline Elizabeth Angell also appeared in court on April 9.
The 65-year-old faces a charge of assault with a weapon, which was identified in court documents as being a six-inch blunt wood object, and unlawful confinement.
She was not present in court.
Her lawyer sought an adjournment to May 13 for election.
A preliminary inquiry has been scheduled for 19-year-old Ashley Comeau who is charged with aggravated assault; assault with a weapon, described in court documents as a metal bar; unlawful confinement and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
Her preliminary inquiry is scheduled for June 17.
There is also a young offender charged in the case.
Four adults and one youth, face charges following an RCMP investigation into an 4 incident on January 4.
RCMP said over a period of about three hours, a teenage girl was taken to several locations in the town and county and beaten, threatened and held against her will.
She was able to escape from a vehicle that she was being driven in when it stopped when it stopped at a stop sign.
She ran to the nearby Your Winners’ World convenience store seeking help and employees called 911.
