A tragic accident in Hants County has lead to the death of two teenage girls.
A 17-year old from Lantz and an 18-year old exchange student from Germany were hit by a freight train headed for Halifax.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says police arrived on the scene around 1:40 this morning.
She says the cause of the accident is still unknown.
“We’re still trying to figure it out at this point,” she says. “Police and CN Rail officials will be at the scene for most of the day conducting an investigation to try to figure out exactly what happened.”
The parents of both girls have been notified.
