Lunenburg residents are bracing for higher water bills.
The province’s utility and review board released a decision to hike rates in the town over the next three years.
It’s expected to add about $10 to each quarterly bill for the more than 1,100 unmetered households.
The first increase is effective July 1 of this year with subsequent raises scheduled for April 1, 2017 and April 1, 2018.
There is also an approved increase between 1.6 per cent and 11.8 per cent for the 187 metered businesses.
The UARB advised the town to continue its efforts to provide a metered system to all of its customers.
Council rejected the idea in 2015 during a water study.
It would cost about $610,000.
