University Graduates In The Maritimes Take An Average Of 4.8 Years To Complete Their First Degree

A new study shows on average university graduates in the Maritimes took 4.8 years to complete their degree.

That’s from the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission who looked at the records of 6,714 between 2004 and 2012.

75% of these graduates completed their first degree at the same university in the same field of study – but on average they took 4.6 years to do so.

The study found on average switching fields of study or transferring to a different university added almost 6 months to a degree.

Students who both transferred degree and institution added a full year to their degree, taking an average of 5.6 years to finish.
