Mary Fay of Chester will curl for a gold medal at the Youth Winter Olympics after Canada defeated Switzerland 7-5 in this afternoon’s semi-final.
Canada led 5-1 after four ends but a determined Swiss squad fought back to make it 6-5 heading into the eighth and final end.
The Canadians scored one to clinch the match and guarantee themselves a medal.
Canada will meet the United States for the gold after the U.S beat Russia 8-6.
The gold medal game is scheduled for 4 a.m Atlantic time Wednesday morning.
