Fire has destroyed a two-story home in Martins Point. Eight fire departments responded to the call at 73 Martins Point Road around 2:30pm this afternoon. Departments involved included Western Shore, Chester, Chester Basin, Martins River, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Blockhouse and Bridgewater. Roughly 100 firefighters were on scene. Western Shore Chief Scott Rafuse says the home is a complete loss. He says, “Upon my arrival, the roof was already in on the structure but the floor and everything is right into the basement.” Rafuse says the cause hasn’t been determined. The Fire Marshal has been called and will be investigating. The Red Cross has also been called to support the family. No one was hurt.
