UPDATE: Nova Scotia Wild Fires

UPDATE (4:00 P.M.)- DNR says the Seven Mile Lake Fire is now considered 70% contained. It remains at 395 hectares in size.

A majority of water bombers will focus their efforts on the Seven Mile Lake fire in Annapolis County.

Crews are attacking the head of the fire today.

The fire remains 45% contained and 395 hectares in size.

The Department of Natural Resources says the fire received 10 millimetres of rain yesterday but more is needed.

There is a chance of some rain near Kejimkujik National Park this afternoon with showers expected tonight and tomorrow.

A section of Trunk 8 remains closed due to water bombing.
