A fire Wednesday night in Shelburne County has claimed a life.
RCMP Corporal Jennifer Clarke tells Acadia News that the Barrington detachment is investigating the fatal house fire in Clark’s Harbour.
Police say shortly before midnight officers responded to a 911 call, saying there was information to suggest there could be residents inside the home.
RCMP officers and neighbours tried to get inside the home but were unsuccessful.
After firefighters from several departments got the blaze under control, a 60-year old man was found dead inside the house.
Clarke says RCMP will remain on scene with the Fire Marshal’s Office while an investigation is conducted.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
