A man was taken into custody after what police call a “violent incident” in the vicinity of Linden Avenue and Lower Street.
RCMP Sergeant Mark MacPherson is not saying exactly what happened but people have commented to our newsroom that a stabbing occurred.
Two men were involved.
The incident happened around 2 p.m Tuesday.
MacPherson says one man was taken to the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax by LifeFlight with unknown injuries.
He says the victim remains in hospital but his condition has not been released.
The suspect is expected to make a court appearance on Wednesday.
The victim and suspect are both believed to be middle-aged men and from Lunenburg.
Police had both streets blocked off at one point and an officer appeared to be armed with a rifle.
MacPherson says RCMP have executed a search warrant at a Linden Avenue home and numerous items have been seized as evidence.
