It has been one year since newsroom workers at the Chronicle Herald went on strike.
Rallies were held today across the province to mark the occassion.
Supporters met near Jerry’s Diner on North Street in Bridgewater early this afternoon.

On Jan 23, 2016, the 61 members of the Halifax Typographical Union rejected the company’s offer which would’ve seen wage rollbacks and changes to working conditions, seniority and benefits.

Throughout the strike, the HTU has accused the company of trying to eliminate the union from its newsroom.
Both sides returned to the negotiating table this past week.
An unfair labour complaint filed by the HTU with the Nova Scotia Labour Board was postponed until February 8 to allow negotiations to continue.
