Week One Wraps Up at Canada Summer Games

Micaela Sabean of Bridgewater and Tori Haworth lost to B.C., 20-10, 20-14 in the women’s beach volleyball bronze medal game.

The fourth place finish was a Canada Games best for Nova Scotia.

Para Discus silver medalist Ryan Shay of Yarmouth narrowly missed a second medal in para shot put, finishing fourth.

Hudson Grimshaw-Surette also of Yarmouth was fifth in the men’s 800 metre.

Week one competition ended Friday and athletes are flying home Saturday.

Week two athletes arrive this evening. Competition resumes Monday.

Nova Scotia sits seventh with 15 medals including two gold, seven silver and six bronze.
