I used to like beer. I still do. For various reasons I don’t drink it as often as I once did, but I like beer. The blending of the hops and the malt make for some interesting tastes. But it was still beer. Or ale. Or stout.
They are all a bit different. The slight differences in flavours are always fun to try to figure out. More hops, less hops, a different kind of hops… but it was all fairly similar.
Now there are flavours. Turns out you can put just about anything in beer and it will add to the flavour in some way.
Now there’s a brewery that has come out with… are you ready… donair beer.
I find this confusing. Usually I have beer which later leads to the desire for a donair. One just sort of naturally flows from the other, the same way donair sauce naturally flows down your arm to drip off your elbow. But the two at once?
I’m not going to say no. I like donairs and I like beer. But this could be one of those instances where you have to be in the right frame of mind.
If the opportunity arises, I’ll try one. But then again… have I mentioned I like beer?
