Where’s My Ice Cream?

I am disappointed. I did not get my expected ice cream yesterday.

I was prepared. Standing outside with my dish and my spoon, but it didn’t happen. All I got was rain.

For those who missed it, we were warned it would happen. The provincial Emergency Management Office put up a post saying there was a risk of freezing rain and ice cream through Sunday. They say it was a post originally written in French that was automatically translated to English, but the computer mistakenly turned ice pellets into ice cream.

It was nice to dream, but I guess we should have known better. The idea of ice cream falling from the sky would be nice. Clearing the driveway would be a lot more fun. And you’d have to exchange the road salt for chocolate syrup or another favourite of you choice. Maybe sprinkle a few nuts for traction. Place a cherry on top of every bank?

But it didn’t happen. It was just a mistake. Too bad. Winter would be so much more fun if we had the occasional fall of ice cream.

Although then there would be the added expense. All calendars would have to be changed to have the day Sundae.
