So over the weekend, I managed to do something I didn’t think was possible anymore. I got completely lost… with Google Maps running the whole time. I’m talking full “where even am I?” energy. And of course, the app is confidently telling me to turn onto a road that absolutely does not exist. Classic.
Turns out, it’s not always Google’s fault. Sometimes the GPS just freaks out, tall buildings, trees, even the weather can throw it off. And then there’s the crowdsourced stuff. If someone accidentally (or intentionally) marks a road wrong or mislabels a business, that bad info can sneak into your route. Add in the occasional server hiccup or your phone deciding today’s the day it won’t load anything, and suddenly you’re in the middle of nowhere wondering how we ever survived with paper maps.
So yeah, lesson learned: even the tech giants have off days. And maybe, just maybe, I should trust my instincts a little more than the voice telling me to “proceed to the route.”
