Woman Charged With Drunk Driving After Crashing Into Lake

Driving her car into the lake has led to charges for a Bridgewater woman.

RCMP responded to a call around 12:30 Tuesday morning for a single vehicle collision in Spectacle Lakes.

The vehicle drove off the road and hit a utility pole before ending up in the water.

A passing motorist jumped in and pulled the female driver out through the passenger side.

After speaking with the female driver, officers determined her ability to operate a vehicle was impaired, and she was arrested.

She was held in custody until she became sober.

The 28-year-old faces charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80mg%.

She is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court January 17.
