Women’s Giving Circle Awards First Winners

The inaugural Women’s Giving Circle went off without a hitch. The Health Services Foundation of the South Shore raised roughly $14,000. The winners were Catherine Crocker from the physiotherapy department and Matt Naugler from cardiac care within South Shore Health. Development officer Bernadette Jordan says purchase two new step machines for patients with mobility problems. She says, “They will be put at the YMCA for the cardiac care patients who, once they finish their treatment and their physiotherapy at the hospital, can now go on to continue to work with the cardiac care program at the Y.” Close to 100 women donated $100 to help create a $10,000 grant to help pay for the equipment needed. The Women’s Giving Circle is a new fundraiser which replaced ‘Jeans and Gems’ after 16 years.
