Yarmouth Councillor Ken Langille Passes Away At 63

Shock and sadness in Yarmouth following the death of town councillor Ken Langille.

The 63 year-old served on council for 10 years from 1989-1991 and 2008-Present.

Friend and colleague Daniel MacIsaac has served with him on council for the past eight years.

He says Langille will be sorely missed.

“His heart was in the right place for his community,” he says. “It’s just sad that he’s gone. It’s going to be hard for our community.”

MacIsaac has known Langille for 25 years and says he was passionate about helping the people of Yarmouth.

“Ken was something special, and it will take some time to replace–if at all–Councillor Langille, because he was quite unique and it was good for our community and our council.”

MacIsaac says he had some health concerns in the last few years but had been doing better recently.

Only a month ago Langille praised the efforts of the doctors who had performed his heart surgery.

Langille also taught at Yarmouth High School for more than 30 years.
