A Yarmouth County driver has been charged after a close call for several motorists Friday.
At around 4:15 in the afternoon, Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded to a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 3 near the Yarmouth airport.
The caller reported the other driver passed on a double solid line, nearly forcing him and two other vehicles off the road.
Police located the red SUV on Highway 3 near the detachment and attempted a traffic stop but the driver fled.
Police made a second attempt on Robinson Road and the SUV sped away, back toward the highway in what police say was a dangerous manner.
Shortly after police received a report of a red SUV off the road near the Wyman and Chebogue roads intersection.
With the help of a RCMP police dog team, the driver was located and arrested.
Thirty-three-year-old Keith Arthur Siscoe is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, impaired driving by alcohol, two counts of flight from police, and resisting arrest.
The driver was also driving an unregistered vehicle with a revoked licence and is facing those charges as well.
Siscoe will remain in custody until his court appearance tomorrow.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be laid.
