Yarmouth Therapist Charged With Sexual Assault

A 44-year-old Yarmouth man has been charged with sexual assault after an alleged incident in March.

According to Yarmouth Rural RCMP, on March 3, Dominic Jacob Deveau met the victim at a coffee shop and then went for a drive outside of town, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

A spokesperson for the RCMP says Deveau and the victim were known to each other.

Deveau, a therapist from the Yarmouth region, was arrested April 3 and released later that day on conditions, including no contact with the victim.

He’s set to apepar in Yarmouth Provincial Court May 28.

RCMP are concerned there may be additional victims and are asking that if anyone who has been victimized, contact Yarmouth Rural RCMP.

The investigation is ongoing.
