A big part of what Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association does is bid on events.
Those events aren’t always held during the peak summer season.
YASTA general manager Neil MacKenzie has been making presentations to local councils seeking a bid to host Nova Scotia Music Week which runs in the month of November.
“So we’re forging all the partnerships we need to have to make sure we actually have enough funds and partners engaged in the plans to bid on the next three years of the event, 2020, 21, and 22.”
He says local councils and other partners are being asked to support that bid.
“I need to meet with all these partners, express the economic development impact that most of these events have. Most of them are very much supportive, they see the economic benefit it brings to the community.”
Truro has hosted Nova Scotia Music Week for the past three years including this year.
Yarmouth has hosted the event four times.
