47th Nova Scotia Marathon Held In Barrington Sunday

The 2017 Nova Scotia Marathon was held through Barrington yesterday.

Stephen Walsh of Cambridge, Massachusetts had the fastest time at just over three hours and two minutes in the 42 kilometre route.

Neal Cody of Timberlea was second at three hours, nine minutes and 44 seconds.

The top female was Colleen Ryan of Intervale, New Hampshire, who placed fourth overall.

The best local finisher was Donavon Nickerson of Cape Sable Island, who placed 15th.

Over 50 ran the full marathon, the 47th edition of the race, which serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

130 ran the half marathon, with Cal DeWolfe of Conquerall Mills, NS winning with a time of one hour, 12 minutes and 33 seconds.

Jason Mossman of Lunenburg won the 10k in 41 minutes and 25 seconds.

Heather Baillie of Yarmouth was the fastest female, Korey MacKinnon of Shelburne County placed second overall.
