I was all ready to say that “spring is in the air” earlier this month, and then we entered the deep freeze for a few days. A nice one yesterday and now there is snow in the forecast. Now I am scared to even think of spring for fear it will lead to more minus twenty temperatures.
It is no secret that I like snow, but I am not a fan of our most recent common winter trends of big fluctuations in temperatures. Spring does officially begin on Saturday, so can we assume tonight into tomorrow will be the final snow until fall? The Farmers Almanac is still planning on more in a week or so.

The final week of March for much of the eastern half of the country looks stormy, with a significant late-season snowfall blowing into Ontario and Quebec on through the Maritimes. Near-normal winter precipitation will cover the rest of the country.

Do Canadians hate winter now? We are known worldwide for cold and snowy weather, but does anyone enjoy that at all anymore? The survey conducted pre pandemic found a lot of people love escaping winter.

Like it or not, we will likely see the landscape blanketed by winter precipitation overnight tonight. On the bright side, warm weekend weather will likely prevent any snow from sticking around. My best advice is to enjoy it while it is here. Just like these BC crows or Ravens are, playing in the snow.
