The province is awarding 20 scholarships to Nova Scotia students pursuing a career in the energy and mines sector.
The Nova Scotia Energy and Mines Scholarship program supports students pursuing energy and mining related studies at post-secondary institutions across the province.
“The energy and mines sectors are important economic contributors in our province, and this scholarship will help ensure a skilled workforce in these fields,” said Derek Mombourquette, Nova Scotia energy and mines minister.
8 students at NSCC will receive a $2,500 scholarship for energy and mining related disciplines, along with 8 students enrolled in university programs receiving a renewable scholarship of $10,000
From the South Shore, Shelburne student Savannah Taylor was one of the university recipients, with the scholarship going toward her engineering course at Dalhousie University.
