The feeling of winning gold has not sunk in for Mary Fay.
She helped the Canadian mixed curling team win gold, 10-4 over the U.S at the Youth Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.
The 17 year-old says she’s happy to bring the gold medal back to Canada.
“To see the flag go up and hear our anthem be played, it’s a moment I’ll never forget. I had some tears in my eyes but it was so amazing. It was an unreal moment.”
Fay says the team practiced hard and worked well together on route to the gold medal.
She will also play in the mixed doubles at the Youth Winter Olympics, which starts tomorrow.
