Group Invests In PFDs For 500 Fishermen

A Nova Scotia fishing group is making a major investment in safety.

The Gulf Nova Scotia Fleet Planning Board will spend $230,000 on personal floatation devices for more than 500 fishermen.

Spokesperson Leonard LeBlanc says the idea is to change the safety culture in the fishing industry one PFD at a time.

February 18 marked the three-year anniversary of the sinking of the Miss Ally and her five crew.
