Town council in Lockeport has voted to do away with its monthly committee of the whole meeting.
The meeting gives members the opportunity to listen to staff reports and make recommendations for decision two weeks later.
Mayor George Harding says they are choosing to replace the COW meeting with a second monthly council session.
“When our staff report and make recommendations, those recommendations are immediately approved or disapproved right off the bat,” says Harding.
“There isn’t this two week wait period.”
Harding adds committee of the whole meetings are a good mechanism to have but another council meeting will make things more efficient.
