It is with great sadness that the family of Esther Hunt, 77, announce her passing on May 3rd, 2026, at her home in Shubenacadie, NS with her loving partner Roli by her side.
Born in English Harbour West, NL, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Velma (Fizzard) Osbourne.
Esther (or as we called her, Essie) was a very hard worker from the start. At age sixteen, she started working at The Sunny Cottage in Harbour Breton until she married the love of her life Raymond on April 20th, 1966. She then became a stay-at-home mom until her boys went to school and then went to work at the FishNet until finding her passion as a Personal Care Worker at Harbour View Haven in Lunenburg, where she worked for twenty-three years until her retirement.
Essie lived for her family; they were her everything. She was an amazing mom, mom-in-law, nanny, great-nanny, friend, aunt, and sister. Essie loved to bake, try new recipes, knit, and crochet, loved to entertain with skits for Newfie Days, and was always down to tell a story or dirty joke. After the passing of her husband Raymond, she was lucky enough to meet an incredibly special man named Roli, who treated her like a queen, always on the go for dinner, coffee or just outside in the garden. Roli made her so happy until her passing. Essie will be missed by everyone who knew and met her, but mostly by her family. She was and will always be the heart of our family. We love you so much.
Essie is survived by her son, Rocky (Tish) Hunt; grandchildren Angel (Errika) Tufts and Brooke (Caleb) Levy; great-grandchildren; Finley, Nora, Ray and Ozzie, partner Roli McCullian and his family; sisters Amy (Ben) Banfield, Ann Osbourne, and Glenda (David) Williams; brothers William (Cathy) Osbourne, Charles (Debra) Osbourne, John (Shelley) Osbourne, and Aubrey (Marie) Osbourne; brother-in-law, Bill Poole; sisters-in-law Madeline, Sadie and Christine Hunt, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by husband; Raymond Hunt; sons, Archie, and Tony Hunt; brothers, Archibald, Walter, and Thomas Osbourne; sisters, Una Skinner, Elizabeth Osbourne, Joan Poole, and Ethel Tibbo; sister-in-law, Ellen Hunt; brothers-in-law, Edgar Hunt, Wally Hunt, Winsten Hunt, Roger Hunt, Walter Skinner, and Gordon Tibbo.
