Home-based Business Celebrates Proposed Changes To Provincial Building Code

Good news for home-based businesses in the province.

Proposed changes to the building code means small residential companies are off the hook for unnecessary costly renovations.

Lunenburg’s Hat Junkie, Anna Shoub couldn’t be happier.

“The government just gave a wonderful gift to all municipalities in all of Nova Scotia saying, we’re behind you and we’re clarifying there’s no need for washroom and no need for any commercial building code requirements,” said Shoub.

Shoub has been at odds with the Town of Lunenburg over provincial regulations for the better part of a year.
