The new leader of the Nova Scotia NDP is in Yarmouth today.
Gary Burrill says he already has his eye on the next provincial election and wants to start spreading the word about his top priorities.
Chief among them is income equality.
“Working full-time, year-round, in many many circumstances, does not allow you to get up above the poverty line,” he says. “We think it should.”
Burrill says they’d like to see a $15 minimum wage and better access to post-secondary education for lower income families.
He’ll be heading back to the city tomorrow but is expected in Lunenburg on Thursday.
