Shelburne: Town Donating $500 To Fort Mac Relief Effort

The impact of the devastating wildfire in Fort McMurray has led a local town to do what it can to support relief efforts.

The Town of Shelburne is providing $500 to the Canadian Red Cross.

Mayor Karen Mattatall says it’s important to help provide relief efforts.

“It’s very distressing for people. Everybody here has people that are connected to Fort McMurray and it’s a very heartbreaking situation.”

Mattatall says the Fort McMurray fire is one the largest natural disasters in Canadian history.

She expects the money will be provided right away.
