Doctors Nova Scotia Recommends Deal With The Province

Doctors Nova Scotia announced a tentative agreement with the province this morning.

Negotiations wrapped up in May, but the association took the month to finalize details.

They made their recommendation to accept the deal late last week, years after several old agreements expired.

The settlement was reached after a year of negotiations.

Doctors will be given the opportunity to vote on the deal before the end of June.

President of Doctors Nova Scotia, Dr. Michelle Dow says she believes this is the best deal possible for both physicians and patients.

If ratified it will be valid for four years.

Further details of the contract will be made available after it has been ratified at the end of the month.
