A $15,000 donation from Telus will help expand the YMCA’s Youth Leader program.
The Honourable Myra Freeman, who is an Atlantic board member with Telus, presented a cheque today to the YMCA of Southwest Nova Scotia.
Coordinator with the Lunenburg County YMCA, Kim Whitman-Mansfield, says the program helps develop youth.
“That is supportive of their needs, that they feel they are not being judged, where they can be themselves and be with other youth their age.”
The program could soon help youth at the Fundy and Yarmouth YMCA’s.
Kids between 12 and 18-years-old can get involved every Wednesday night at the King Street Youth Centre in Bridgewater.
