Moncton: Thousands Gather For RCMP Funeral

Silence in the Moncton Coliseum as three caskets draped in Canadian Flags were carried to the front of the funeral procession. The stadium filled with those wanting to pay their respects to the three fallen RCMP officers, killed in last weeks shooting. Corporal Chantal Farrah, master of ceremonies, saying that the sudden and violent deaths of the three officers have left everyone in the policing community and general public suffering a profound loss. Meanwhile, it’s an emotional day for RCMP across Canada including Lunenburg County. Several officers along with other emergency personnel gathered at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre to watch the funeral proceedings of the three fallen RCMP officers in Moncton. Lunenburg County RCMP Constable Shawn Cody says the tragedy affects everyone. Cody says the events in Moncton will be a learning experience for RCMP that they can build from and prevent in the future.
