A former Chester municipal councillor is on the minds of many.
The 2nd Annual Robert (Bob) Myra Memorial Softball Tournament and Musical Tribute is scheduled for this weekend at the Western Shore Legion.
Myra passed away last year at age 71.
He served on council for 19 years and was active in the community through the Royal Canadian Legion, Masonic Lodge and Philae Shriners.
Jason Myra, Bob’s son, says the community showed a lot of respect last year for his father.
“I don’t think there is a person out there that didn’t like him. He was a well-liked and loved man and most definitely, he is deeply missed.”
The softball tournament features eight team this year, up from six in 2016 and performances from local musicians.
Proceeds will go to PRO Kids in memory of Bob Myra.
