Craft Beer, a new documentary produced by Halifax’s Creative Atlantic looks at the explosion of the industry in Nova Scotia.
Halifax filmmaker, Brian DuBreuil said sales of craft beer have been growing across Nova Scotia by a rate of about 25 percent annually.
“The movie gives an Ivany Report’s text book definition of what we need to do to revitalize these communities. You know we have small businesses started by young entrepreneurs that are bringing new jobs, new energy, new buzz to rural communities,” said DuBreuil.
DuBreuil added, the movie focuses on the economic growth of rural communities due to consumer demand for locally produced craft beer.
The industry employs more than 300 people across the province and has spurred a new agriculture sector as well.
