National Day Of Remembrance On Violence Against Women

Today marks the 26th anniversary of the massacre of 14 young women at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal.

At least in part of that horrific event, December 6th is a National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

Shanny Doucet is a Vice President responsible for Women’s Issues with the Federation of Labour.

“We continue to try and make progress by improving the health and safety in the workplaces.”

Second Story Women’s Centre will mark the Day of Remembrance at the Lunenburg Fire Hall Community Room at 2 p.m.

A candlelight vigil will also be held in Yarmouth’s Frost Park at 5 p.m.
