The future of the Greenfield airport will be decided in the new year.
The Region of Queens is giving the South Shore Flying Club one more month to determine how the space could be better utilized.
Mayor Christopher Clarke says the two sides have been negotiating since last October.
“And we agreed with them that we would push to get an agreement by the end of March. The end of November has come and gone and they still haven’t got an agreement.”
The group is looking for the Region of Queens to pay their insurance and enter into a 15-year agreement.
Clarke says that is not going to happen and they will re-visit the issue in January.
